• New Works Service M1 and Works Service M2 are introduced, running Monday to Friday to St. Wulstans Hospital. Service M1 runs via Welland, Blackmore Park Road, Peachfield Road, Great Malvern Railway Station, to Barnards Green. Service M2 runs via Malvern Wells and Great Malvern to Malvern Link.

• A new network of local Malvern area services are introduced. Service 408, Service 409 and Service 410 are withdrawn and replaced in part by new Service M1, Service M2 and Service M3, running over new routes.

At the end of operations on Saturday 5^th September 1981, Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited (MROC) ceased trading as a bus and coach operator. The operation of all services are divided and assumed by five new operating companies.
